Overview

Summary of Responsibilities:

Manage a variety of portfolios consisting of stocks, bonds, ETF’s and mutual funds in order to meet investment goals. Develop and implement both a tactical and strategic investment plan to meet the client’s long term objectives. Invest the portfolio using securities of internal portfolio managers and external managers or funds. Monitor the individual portfolios regularly for proper asset allocation and diversification to insure adherence to client’s objectives and risk tolerance. Make adjustments as necessary in order to maximize return and preserving capital within the individual investment guidelines. Work with the Wealth Management Team to build a marketing strategy in order to increase accounts and assets under management. Work with Marketing to develop marketing and presentation materials that enhance the Wealth Management product and processes. Meet with potential clients to present and sell our Investment Management services. Meet with existing clients on a regular basis to review investment goals, current needs and performance. Work with a client’s tax advisors or attorneys to properly effectuate the portfolio.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive investment strategy within assigned portfolios.

  • Analyze and execute on opportunities as they become available in the marketplace within the various equity, fixed income and outside fund/ETF markets.

  • Maintain a high degree of communication among the investment staff in order to enhance overall performance. Keep up-to-date with any changing needs of the client and provide market updates and portfolio changes.

  • Ensures the Fort Washington client experience results in a high level of loyalty, retention, increase in wallet share and referrals from current clients and their families.

  • Meet with and make presentations for both existing and potential clients with the main goal to maintain and increase fee generating client base.

  • Participates in pre-call planning effort, client focused meeting agendas, world-class client presentations, documented client goals and priorities, meeting and call summaries, notes and debrief with action items following any client interaction.

  • Maintain a clear understanding of the markets and the factors that affect them.

  • Research new and monitor existing securities within the portfolios in order to maximize performance and preserve capital.

  • Understand the technical aspects of the markets.

  • Make sure that we are in compliance with all internal and external rules and codes by working closely with our Compliance Department.

  • Maintain the highest degree of fiduciary responsibility.

  • Work with a client’s other advisors such as attorneys and accountants to develop comprehensive plan.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Selection Criteria:

  • Proven knowledge and experience (over 5 years) of investment and portfolio management theory, accounting and financial principles, associated investment strategies and instruments, characteristics of world markets and full range of investment products.

  • Highest Level of ethical standards.

  • Advanced knowledge of securities markets and their behavior in various economic environments.

  • Strong understanding of the economy and factors influencing its behavior.

  • Advanced skills in the areas of portfolio construction and risk management.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Understanding of internal systems and analytical software.

  • High degree of confidentiality.

  • Team player.

  • Demonstrated strong team orientation.

Work Setting:

  • This position works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings. Requires visual acuity to read a variety of correspondence, reports and forms and to prepare and analyze data.

 

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum BA/BS in accounting, finance or economics preferred.

Computer skills and knowledge of hardware & software required:

  • Proficient in spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software.

Certifications & licenses (i.e. Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.):

  • MBA designation preferred.

  • CFA and/or CFP are highly preferred.

Position Demands:

  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
