Summary of Responsibilities:
Leverages strong technical skills and an in-depth understanding of business strategies, priorities and initiatives to provide technology solutions that empower business leaders to gain insights and make strategic business decisions. Champions enterprise-wide collaboration and develops close partnerships with both business and IT leaders in order to foster a deeper understanding of the business benefits of leveraging data, business intelligence, data analysis tools and CRM capabilities. Fosters creation of best practices and sets standards for use of Tableau. Leads prioritization, design, development and delivery of business intelligence solutions, database enhancements, data analysis tools, reports, dashboards and CRM capabilities. Solves complex business and technical problems. Mentors others across the enterprise on Tableau new release capabilities and their business impact. Creates training materials that can be used throughout the Tableau community and conducts training sessions. Shares knowledge of multiple databases, data flows and relationships across various sources. Serves as the subject matter expert for WSFGD/Touchstone data on enterprise-level projects. Institutes appropriate testing methodologies and confirms they are implemented. Monitors production support activities for the department, assures issues are resolved, root cause identified when possible and permanent solutions applied. Responds with flexibility to changing priorities and new project assignments. Works with minimal supervision and independently makes a broad range of critical decisions, escalating to VPs and executive-level associates only when appropriate.

Leads and participates in projects related to business intelligence, data initiatives and CRM capabilities. Establishes priority, creates timelines, assures collaboration between business and IT, provides guidance to project team members, assigns tasks and monitors performance of team members. Assures business users agree that results meet or exceed expectations.
Stays informed on new capabilities of business intelligence and data analysis tools by attending vendor conferences and participating in local forums and online communities.
Mentors peers and IT teams across the enterprise on new capabilities and the potential business benefits. Designs and maintains a curriculum for coaching and training business customers in the use of business intelligence tools. Shares knowledge of multiple databases, data flows and relationships across various sources.
Leads the development of best practices for use of business intelligence tools and optimized data structure.
Solves complex business and technical problems and frequently challenges proposed solutions to assure optimal results for the enterprise.
Provides analysis and reporting to executives on confidential matters.
Monitors production support activities for the department, assures issues are resolved, root cause identified when possible and permanent solutions implemented.
Assists in the selection, negotiation and management of technology relationships with vendors.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Proven strong experience in SQL, relational database knowledge, reporting, business intelligence and CRM support.
Demonstrated advanced experience with query, analysis and business intelligence tools.
Demonstrated strong technical knowledge of a variety of internal and external data sources; includes knowledge of data extract optimization to provide speed within business intelligence visualizations.
Demonstrated ability to understand overall business objectives and establish appropriate priority across multiple projects.
Proven strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact successfully with all levels of associates, including senior executives using both business-friendly terminology and technical language with IT associates.
Demonstrated experience developing partnerships with business and IT leaders. Cite examples of partnerships that fostered understanding of the business benefits of leveraging data and data interaction tools that enhanced business decision-making capabilities.
Demonstrated leadership across all phases of conceptualization, design, development, testing, training and support of data and business intelligence solutions.
Proven experience leading the development of best practices and standards for use of business intelligence tools, optimized data structure and best methods to deliver meaningful insights back to the business partners.
Proven ability to challenge solutions in order to assure best results for the business.
Proven experience defining curriculum for coaching and training business customers in the use of business intelligence tools.
Demonstrated ability to reduce uncertainty and to manage ambiguity. Deals constructively with problems that do not have clear solutions.
Demonstrated adaptability to adjust to multiple demands, deadlines, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.

This position works primarily in an office setting and requires being in a stationary position for long periods of time frequently while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings. Position requires frequent movement of wrists, hands and fingers for continuous computer work.
Computer Skills and Knowledge of Hardware & Software Required:
Advanced SQL (Oracle, SQL Server) and relational database knowledge required.
Advanced BI/reporting tool knowledge required (Tableau, Cognos, Crystal Reports, etc.).
Exposure to CRM tools such as SalesPage, Salesforce, etc.
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, database and report development applications.
Working knowledge of ETL and Dimensional Data Modeling concepts.
Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
