Overview

The Project Management Intern will report to the Project Management Office (PMO) and work closely with the Project Managers, Business Analysts, Enterprise Business Analyst Manager, Portfolio team and PMO leadership to assist in the management and successful delivery of strategic projects for the Western & Southern Financial Group.

Responsibilities

Assist a PMO Project Manager by supporting their efforts on an active project by managing schedule updates, project status reports, project financial reporting, meeting agenda/minutes, updating resource plans, and other applicable task as part of Waterfall and/or Agile (Scrum) project delivery methodologies.

 

Participation in PMO and project level meetings, activities, training assistance with process documentation; and general PMO work as deemed necessary by the PMO Director and Portfolio Managers.   

 

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

·         Basic understanding of project management techniques.

·         Strong problem solving/analytical skills.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Good time management and organizational skills.

·         Ability to quickly grasp new technical project topics.

·         Ability to apply academic knowledge, such as analysis, writing, and documentation to work situations in a practical manner.

·         Ability to work in a team setting.

·         Ability to multitask and manage priorities.

·         Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and improvement.

·         Ability to learn and understand Western & Southern Financial Group Project Management processes as part of the Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC).

·         Ability to perform basic tasks on time and accurately as assigned by the Project Manager mentor.

Work Setting:

  • This position works in an office setting and remains in a continuous stationary position for long periods while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.  Position requires substantial movement of wrists, hands and fingers for continuous computer work.

Educational Requirements:

·         Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree-seeking program with a major in Business (emphasis Project Management), Information Technology, Computer Science, or related.

Computer Skills and Knowledge of Hardware & Software Required:

·         Proficient in Microsoft Project, Visio, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook.

Certifications & Licenses (i.e., Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.):

  • None required.
