Summary of Responsibilities: |
The internship will be a project-oriented experience. The intern will be assigned various projects during the summer, which could include budgeting, analytical analysis, operations, marketing, client service, compliance, business development, investment research and/or operational/database management-related matters. The intern will obtain direct exposure to Fort Washington Investment Advisors (FWIA) and Western & Southern Financial Group (W&SFG) senior management, and he/she will be expected to generate and deliver a "final" PowerPoint presentation to senior management at the end of the internship period. |
Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities: |
Due Diligence and Fund Monitoring Performs operational due diligence for prospective private equity investments, including completing research, conducting meeting, and documenting conclusions. Prepares consolidation analyses for prospective alternative investments within W&SFG, Opportunities III-B, and Fund IX-B portfolios. Attends at least one annual meeting, documenting key discussions and notes in Dynamo. Develops Excel models and other ad hoc analysis to analyze current investment performance for the portfolio of private equity investments for FWCP and W&SFG.
Private Equity Technology Project Participates in pre-conversion planning activities. Conducts pre-conversion documentation management, including validation of data in Dynamo and Burgiss for completeness.
Fund X Launch Participates in creation of data room for prospective limited partners. Assists LP Relations with pre-close preparation. Prepares management fee schedule for new limited partners for the expected fund term.
Provides financial and/or data analysis of selected investment related, operational and/or marketing data sets. Assists in implementing effective processes and procedures for completing and improving work. Assists management in identifying and developing analysis tools necessary to help manage the business. Participates in various projects as assigned by management. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Participates in the W&SFG Enterprisewide internship program.

Qualifications
Selection Criteria: |
Cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 out of a 4.0; 3.5+ preferred. Proven general knowledge of the functions of accounting, finance and investments, the underlying body of concepts that constitute the investment management industry and the application of those concepts. Demonstrated successful experience in problem-solving situations. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and complete assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis. Proven examples of motivation and proactive personal development.

Work Setting: |
Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings. Requires visual acuity to read a variety of correspondence, reports and forms, and to prepare and analyze data.

Educational Requirements: |
Working toward bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, finance, operations, economics, management/ operations, marketing or business analytics. Between junior and senior year preferred.
