Overview

This position reviews and processes new agent applications and related paperwork to ensure requests are in good order (IGO) for processing. This includes communication with partners for missing information, requesting Background Investigations and working with Underwriting and New Business to help clear application edits.

Responsibilities

  • Manages cascading application queues and new business edit queue to ensure timely processing of contracting paperwork and appointments in order to clear applications within backdating and compliance guidelines. Works with Underwriting and New Business directly to ensure efficient processing of applications or close out of application when required.
  • Orders background investigation reports for IGO files. Determines deadlines and sends IGO file to contracting specialist for processing the appointment to cover affected applications.
  • Communicates via email with agents and agencies regarding status of applications. Reviews new business application and associated contracting request, sends follow up emails for missing or incomplete forms to reach in good order status.
  • Responds to agent inquiries that come into department via email regarding application status.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or equivalent.(Preferred)
  • Three years relevant work experience to include using computer systems for capturing and storing data, with preference for experience in communicating and dealing effectively with government agencies (Preferred)
  • Experience with the appointing of life insurance agents (Preferred)
  • Strong PC abilities including Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Vue, Sircon or other licensing/commission systems a plus.



Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
