The Portfolio Asset Manager is responsible for proactively evaluating and mitigating associated business risks and opportunities, per established policies and procedures within the real estate debt investments organization. Responsible for managing an assigned commercial loan portfolio including interviewing clients and requesting necessary information, in order to recommend appropriate action on credit decisions and to complete annual reviews for major credit relationships. Supports the mortgage loan investment team by reviewing the appropriate financial and market analysis for existing investments. Manages delinquencies, collateral exceptions, loan ratings, RBC classifications, portfolio reviews, market valuations, specialized reporting, geographic exposure, sub-performing loans, etc. Responsible for monitoring transitional loans, including construction loans and value-add debt investments and making recommendations for future underwriting and collection strategies. Develops comprehensive working knowledge and takes ownership of commercial mortgage loan portfolio performance. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making an established range of decisions, collaborating with the loan production team, servicing, closing, accounting and construction management, escalating to manager when necessary.
