Our MBA Leadership Development Program (LDP) empowers top MBA talent to become exceptional leaders who drive impact at Western & Southern and in the community. Through strategic assignments and direct collaboration with senior leaders, LDP interns contribute meaningfully from day one.

 

Our Leadership Development Program is designed to develop top MBA students (LDP summer interns) through strategic, high visibility assignments and partnership with our senior leadership team. Our LDP challenges the best to become extraordinary financial services leaders with impact throughout Western & Southern Financial Group.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • LDP internships give candidates a realistic preview of life as a full-time LDP associate at Western & Southern Financial Group. The internship typically lasts 10 weeks during the summer between years one and two of a student's MBA program. LDP interns work on projects of the same magnitude as those assigned to LDP associates - giving them the same fast-paced, exciting opportunities.
  • As an LDP intern, you report to the senior officer of your assigned operation and meet with business unit heads throughout Western & Southern Financial Group. Your summer assignment focuses on business deliverables for strategic initiatives within your assigned unit and culminates in a presentation to senior leadership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Working toward Master's degree, preferably in accounting, finance, operations, economics, management/operations, marketing, or business analytics. (Required)
  • Proven business savvy with financial acumen
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills
  • Competency in and a commitment to collaboration
  • A concentration in finance, strategy, consulting, or management
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Familiar with use and knowledge of spreadsheet (Excel) and word processing (MS Word) applications.

Work Setting/Position Demands:

  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
