Overview

Provide the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of small to medium projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members according to plan. Define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. Responsible to make an established range of decisions, escalating to management when necessary and updating manager on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • Define success criteria and direct project development from beginning to end with a focus on protecting core project goals and intended business objectives of the organization.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Set and continually delegate tasks and responsibilities while managing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders and promote positive action and individual accountability for all team activities.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Or equivalent work experience (Required) or
  • Bachelor's Degree Or equivalent work experience (Required)
  • Typically requires three to five years of relevant business experience (Required) and
  • Experience or knowledge of insurance industry (Required)
  • Excellent communication, professional writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment but remain appropriately detailed-oriented
  • Demonstrated customer service and organizational skill
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making and follow-through skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI Project Management Institute (PMI) certification preferred Upon Hire (Preferred)
  • LOMA designations or completed courses Upon Hire (Required)

Work Setting/Position Demands:

  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.

Travel Requirements:

  • 5% travel Travel to home office, vendor sites or conference locations as the job needs arise. This might required overnight stays and should only be about 5% of the time.
