Overview

Collaborates with stakeholders to identify and articulate hardware and software solutions with vendors and W&SFG IT. Performs role of subject matter expert for all Fort Washington Investment Advisors (FWIA) systems from a business unit/operations perspective. Performs vendor management and works with vendors on issue resolution and enhancements. Follows Operational Excellence (OpEx) principles while looking for continuous improvement opportunities with technology. Works on optimization of systems by meeting with business units and documenting areas of improvement opportunities. Position is also responsible for report evaluation, development and implementation following best practices and using the appropriate software. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making an established range of decisions, escalating to manager when necessary and updating manager on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Responsible for elicitation of business requirements and related activities. Uses a variety of elicitation techniques to identify the characteristics of the request. Confirms and communicates the stakeholders’ needs. Identifies and cultivates relationships with key stakeholders: forms and asks probing questions and actively listens to responses
  • Responsible for planning and monitoring business analysis activities related to technology projects and enhancements. Performs an analysis to determine the potential types and areas of impact associated with the change.
  • Gather report requirements and documents all fields required. Creates reports using the appropriate software and follows best practices for development. Ensure reports distributed externally follow secure delivery protocols.
  • Serves as key technical contact and works with all external vendors on new releases, issue management, system enhancements and product development.
  • Understands how processes and systems interact and affect other business units within FWIA. Keeps current on industry information and updates to systems.
  • Follows OpEx principles and makes recommendations for workflow, process or system enhancements to continuously enhance operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate system integrations and processes by preparing process maps, flow charts or utilize other tools to depict.
  • Utilize Service Now to track, document and prioritize incidents and enhancements with W&SFG IT groups.
  • Provide production support to internal and external systems by documenting the issue, distributing to correct technical contact and following to resolution. After root cause analysis of issues, prepare requirements for long term resolution.
  • Serve as system administrator and ensure users set-up with appropriate permissions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems or commensurate experience. - Required
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in financial services industry and minimum 2 years' experience in business analysis, report writing or other technical position - Required
  • Demonstrated experience writing a report with process to write requirements for data view to report creation. - Required
  • Demonstrated experience problem solving system issues to documentation, testing and resolution. - Required
  • Proven ability to assist in conducting research on software and hardware products to meet agreed upon requirements and to support technology reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to multiple demands/deadlines, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Experience working on Agile and /or Waterfall projects.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to successfully interpret and communicate business needs between system groups/vendors in a clear, focused and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key systems to support the business unit processes preferred. Primary systems include PAM, PACE, Bloomberg, eFront and Orion.
  • Experience using Tableau, Cognos or other report writing software.
  • Experience working on Agile and/or Waterfall projects.


Work Setting/Position Demands:

  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
