Overview

Provide data and reporting support for multiple business customers. Work includes migrating reports from outdated technology to Tableau and Cognos. You'll demonstrate strong analytical problem-solving skills to assure accuracy. You will build strong relationships as you communicate successfully with associates at all levels to obtain their approval on the newly converted reports. You'll also work to develop new reports and visualizations through iterative development cycles with business customers.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • Crystal Reports: Assist conversion of outdated reports to Tableau/Cognos.
  • Tableau: Develop dynamic and interactive data visualizations.
  • Cognos: Create reports intended for distributed output.
  • TFS: Use Team Foundation Server to log and track data work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Incoming junior/senior or current graduate student. - Required
  • Major field of study in Data, Analytics or a related field. - Required
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL in a server-based environment, using tools such as PL/SQL Developer, Oracle Developer, or MS SQL Server Management Studio
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relational databases
  • Beginner to moderate experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau, Cognos, Microsoft BI, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond in a positive, professional manner to multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and solving problems independently.

Work Setting/Position Demands:

  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
