Summary of Responsibilities:
Western & Southern is seeking a motivated, energetic, and driven intern to join our Enterprise Architecture team and
contribute to a variety of projects throughout the year. In this position, the intern will create cutting-edge prototypes by
applying modern development practices, artificial intelligence, and cloud-powered technologies. These prototyping
efforts will involve close collaboration with stakeholders across both Business and IT to gather requirements, design,
develop, test, and ultimately present executive-level summaries of the outcomes.
Beyond prototyping, the intern will support the team in all aspects of technology lifecycle management, including solution
evaluations, risk assessments, and architecture reviews. This work will involve data collection, analysis, reporting, and
cross-functional collaboration across IT.
Through these experiences, the intern will gain exposure to every phase of the software development lifecycle as well as
the broader practices of technology lifecycle management and architecture governance—all within a complex, fast-paced
business and IT environment.
Position Responsibilities:
· Develop innovative prototypes leveraging the latest cloud-based technologies and artificial intelligence.
· Gather requirements, design solutions, write code, and perform thorough testing.
· Collect and interpret data to assess solution effectiveness, ensuring accuracy and driving productivity.
· Collect and analyze data related to system health, development metrics and project resource data, collaborating
with IT and business associates as needed.
· Communicate clearly and professionally through both written and verbal channels.
· Actively contribute to team meetings and discussions.
· Deliver solutions in alignment with Western & Southern Financial Group’s Software Development Life Cycle
(SDLC) and Architecture Governance Standards.
· Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Selection Criteria:
· 3.0 GPA or higher.
· Full stack development experience (.Net / C# and SQL experience preferred).
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong analytical skills, experience identifying and defining problems; collecting or interpreting data, establishing
facts, and providing effective solutions.
· Motivation and ability to be productive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Self-direction, flexibility, and an eagerness to learn.
· Demonstrated commitment to quality, emphasizing the need to deliver quality products and/or services.
Educational Requirements:
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or related field of study.
Computer skills and knowledge of hardware & software required:
· Proficient in full stack development required for the position.
· Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications (MS Office preferred).
