Overview

Functions as an internal consultant to the Client Relationship Center (CRC) in regard to data analysis and reporting. Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely creation and distribution of reporting to all CRC business units, including obtaining a thorough understanding of requirements, creating, reviewing and distributing any new or ad-hoc reporting needs. Manages the ongoing growth and leverage of the reporting tools within the CRC. Consults in key decisions regarding product and system design and/or functionality. Applies technical skill sets and knowledge to develop and deploy complete and accurate test plans for implementation of new products and/or system enhancements. Assists in the completion of business unit acceptance testing for deployment of new and enhanced systems and processes. Independently pursues the identification, examination and deployment of innovative workflow and process improvement initiatives that will significantly impact the CRC operational effectiveness. Communicates with all CRC departments, IT, Agency and other Western & Southern Financial Group (WSF&G) departments. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making an established range of decisions, escalating to Manager only when necessary and updating management on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • Develops informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights KPIs, relevant business metrics, trends and opportunities for improvement using Tableau, Sequel, Access and other data analysis tools.
  • Conducts interviews to gather requirements, identify resource impact and develop timeline.
  • Conducts insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues.
  • Assists in the development of standards for data definitions, calculations, manipulation and mapping.
  • Performs workflow and process analysis of operating areas. Works collaboratively with management to develop recommendations identifying improvement opportunities in speed, quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develops, executes and signs off on test plan and matrix for testing the implementation of enhancements in the CRC operational and peripheral systems.
  • Suggests changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participates in the implementation and communicates financial and operation impact of approved changes.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience. - Required
  • Demonstrated BI/data analytics software (Tableau, Cognos, Microsoft Access, etc.) experience. - Required
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of SalesForce preferred. - Preferred
  • Proven ability to impact operations and effect change. - Preferred
  • Proven to be detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive. - Required
  • Proven ability to work independently and with others. - Required
  • Proven to be extremely organized with strong time-management skills. - Required
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and database applications. - Preferred
  • Proficient in Oracle RDBMS and/or Microsoft SQL Server. - Preferred
  • Working knowledge of Structured Query Language. - Preferred
  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence and data analytic software tools. - Preferred

Work Setting/Position Demands:

  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
