Overview

Provide data science support for marketing analytics projects requiring data gathering, analysis and reporting of findings.Audiences for analysis include current and prospective clients, internal and external salesforce, as well as competitors. Examples of projects include market opportunity and potential, retail site planning, customer and financial advisor segmentation, predictive models for new client acquiistion, cross-sales and retention, and optimization models for wholsesaling and internal salesforce activity management.

Responsibilities

What you will do:
  • Extracts/assembles data on consumers, customers, advisors, using internal and external sources
  • Conducts exploratory data mining and analyses using appropriate quantitative and statistical methods
  • Uses descriptive and predictive analytics to share findings and implement machine learning models
  • Assist team members in the analysis and presentation of findings in PowerPoint or other formats
  • Provide overall support as needed for customer acquistion and retention strategies
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Preferably incoming or current Graduate student, although will consider current undergraduate. Major field of study in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Quantitative Economics, or a related field. - Required
  • R, Python, or SAS -
  • Advanced user of Excel, and intermediate level user of PowerPoint and Word. -
  • Exposure to data management and business intelligence software, such as SQL, Tableau, or MS Power BI -
  • Statistical background (previous or upcoming coursework) in areas such as Logistic and Multinomial Regression, -
  • Cluster Analysis, Tree Based models, Random Forests and Ensemble Methods, Experimental Design, Bayesian Methods, etc. -
Work Setting/Position Demands:
  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
